Fall 2008 Career Day Connects Employers with Jobseekers
More than 100 employers will attend the Fall 2008 Career Day.
Career Day is an excellent opportunity to network with professionals and learn more about the industry.

Representatives from more than 100 leading companies will be on campus to recruit new employees, answer questions and collect resumes at Cal Poly Pomona's Fall 2008 Career Day on Thursday, Oct. 16. Organized by the Career Center, the career fair includes companies such as Disney, L.A. Times, Fluor, Mercury Insurance Group, Raytheon, County of Los Angeles and Southern California Edison that are filling full-time, part-time and internship positions.

Participants are encouraged to dress professionally, bring plenty of resumes and be prepared for on-the-spot interviews.

“These events are win-win situations.  We've made it easy for employers to connect with thousands of highly qualified candidates. At the same time, we're helping our students build their resumes and network,” says Tom Munnerlyn, Career Center director.

The fall career fair runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the University Quad.

The Career Center is also hosting two other events: Part-Time Jobs for Broncos and a Grad Fair. The Part-Time Job Fair will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 1 in the University Quad. Employers on campus and in the nearby area will be looking for students to fill part-time and internship positions. On Oct. 2, about 90 graduate schools in various disciplines will come to campus and provide information to students about their academic programs. The Grad Fair is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University Quad.

All events are free and open to Cal Poly Pomona students and alumni. For more information, visit the Career Center website at http://dsa.cpp.edu/career or call Veronica Moy at (909) 869-2341.
