Craig French in "Paradigm Shift"

Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center will display the works of Craig French. Curated by George Cuttress, the exhibit examines the evolution of French's work from vibrant colors and neon to contemplative simplicity of his wall sculptures. The Second Saturday Artwalk and Artist Reception will be held Sept. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. The art gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. The closing reception is on Sept. 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. http://artscenecal.com/Announcements/2008/0808/CalPolyPomonaDT0808.html

Admired for their beauty and great size, oak trees symbolize strength and longevity. It was fitting that the university dedicated an oak tree on Aug. 18 in honor of alumnus Stuart J. Sperber, a pioneer and leader in the horticulture industry.
