Four finalists for the position of provost and vice president for academic affairs will visit the campus in April. Learn about them by attending open forums and reviewing their application materials. Video of the open forums will be available after the final open forum on April 24.
In cooperation with the Cal Poly Pomona Career Center, Kaplan, a leader in the test preparation field, has awarded scholarships to 10 motivated and deserving students. The value of these scholarships is upwards of $20,000.
The W. Keith and Janet Kellogg University Art Gallery at Cal Poly Pomona is showcasing "Ink and Clay 34" through May 3. The exhibit represents the best of printmaking and ceramic art from a national juried exhibition. A free reception and awards ceremony will be held April 10 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
On Tuesday, April 8 at noon, campus leaders will come together for a budget advocacy forum to address proposed cuts to the California State University system. This call-to-action intends to send a strong message to the Governor, the Legislature and the people of California that the "CSU is the Solution" to the state's troubled economy and that alternative solutions to the state's fiscal challenges must be sought.
The University Research Council has announced the winners in the 2008 Student Research & Creative Activity Poster Competition held in February. The annual poster competition showcases the variety of student research and creative projects at Cal Poly Pomona.
The dA Center for the Arts in Downtown Pomona will soon try some new promotional techniques thanks to the work of Cal Poly Pomona and the School of Arts and Enterprise students. Since 2007, the university and the Pomona-based charter high school have worked with small business owners and managers in Pomona to enhance their marketing efforts.
On May 4, the university will host the inaugural Southern California Tasting & Auction an adventure of tastes, sights and sounds. Proceeds will benefit Cal Poly Pomona students with scholarships and academic enrichment opportunities. The Office of Alumni Affairs seeks to recruit 132 volunteers to help support this event.
