The 2nd annual Matt's Run attracted about 450 participants.

Hundreds of people turned out for the 2nd annual Matt's Run on Oct. 6, at Cal Poly Pomona. The 5K run/walk honors the memory of Matthew Myers, a Cal Poly Pomona student who died tragically in a traffic accident on campus in 2005.

The event attracted about 450 runners and many volunteers, who helped raise nearly $30,000 for the Matthew Myers Memorial Scholarship Fund.

With matching funds from Myer's parents, Kevin and Chris, six students were each presented a $500 scholarship after the run.

They are:
