Dozens of undergrads breathed new life into a historic cemetery long abused by vandals and trampled on by trespassers. Professor Dennis Quinn arranged the creative service-learning project for his IGE 121: Rationalism, Revelation, and Enlightenment in the Ancient World class.

Herman Lujan Named Interim Provost

Dr. Herman D. Lujan, who served as provost at Cal State Los Angeles for six years before retiring this past June, has been named by President Michael Ortiz as interim provost and vice president for academic affairs. A national search will be conducted to find a permanent replacement. Lujan assumes the duties of Tomas Morales, who was recently named president of City University of New York, College of Staten Island.

McNair Scholars Present Research

Nineteen undergrads from a variety of disciplines gathered July 26 to present their extensive research during the annual McNair Scholars Program Summer Symposium. The symposium is the culmination of six months of dedicated and hard work. The McNair Scholars Program is a federally funded TRIO program.
