"Politics, Radicalism and Hopes for Peace"


The university's Hillel Organization of Jewish Students and StandWithUs will host "Politics, Radicalism and Hopes for Peace" on Tuesday, April 25, 7:30-9:30 p.m., in the Music Recital Hall. Nonie Darwish, writer, public speaker and interpreter, will address the audience from her perspective on "Reflections from the Daughter of a Martyr." Born and raised as a Moslem in Gaza and Cairo, she worked as an editor and translator at the Middle East News Agency. Jeff Helmreich, who has worked closely with Ambassador Dore Gold at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, will address "Politics and Peace." He was a spokesman and speechwriter for Israel's United Nations Embassy and Consulate, and co-produced "Blood and Tears", a documentary with interviews of Palestinians and Israelis.
