NTSB Investigator Patrick Jones looks over wreckage of a light plane that crashed into an agricultural field near Lanterman Developmental Center Wednesday night, killing two passengers and injuring a third.
The crash occurred at Spadra Ranch, located near Pomona Boulevard and State Street.

A small single-engine aircraft crashed on a university agricultural field, south of Lanterman Developmental Center, on Wednesday night. Two men were found dead at the scene, while a third passenger was injured.

The Comanche 250 crashed at about 7:50 p.m. in Spadra Ranch, near Pomona Boulevard and State Street. Authorities found the survivor, a 53-year-old man, alert and conscious at the scene. He was airlifted by helicopter to the trauma center at Los Angeles County USC Medical Center.

Responding agencies included Cal Poly Pomona University Police, Pomona Police Department, Los Angeles County Fire Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff?s Department, and California Highway Patrol.

The crash will be investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.
