Jennifer Schufer, coordinator of the Visitor & Information Center, has been reassigned to serve as interim director of Student Communication and Information Services, effective July 1. The position represents the division of Student Affairs' commitment to institutionalize a position dedicated to strengthening ongoing communication with current students and coordinating student marketing and outreach efforts for prospective students.
“Jennifer has the passion, energy and talent to move forward this important initiative to support student success,” says Kathy Street, associate vice president for Enrollment Services. Jennifer has established liaisons with several key members of the campus community and these partnerships will be important in maximizing the opportunities for effective student communication and information on campus.”
As interim director, Schufer will serve as liaison with Public Affairs, the academic colleges, I&IT and ASI in the development and implementation of an integrated communication approach for both prospective and current students. Schufer, who has been at Cal Poly Pomona since 1994, will continue to have oversight responsibility for Visitor & Information Centers. Schufer has contributed significantly to a number of university and divisional events and initiatives including the Enrollment Management Advisory Committee (EMAC) Marketing and Outreach subcommittee, BroncoFusion, the division of Student Affairs' new web design, Fall Conference, BroncoFest, Showcase of Excellence, Founders Celebration and the development of Cal Poly Pomona's Web site.
Schufer earned her bachelor's degree in English and Communication Arts at California Lutheran University and is expected to complete her master's in English Composition at California State University, San Bernardino in 2006.
Schufer and her husband Michael live in Pomona with their two children Ethan and Jacob.
