The Bronco Exhibit Gallery will present the works of two local artists, Carol Powell and Gustavo Muñiz, April 4-29 in the upper level of the Bronco Student Center. An opening reception for the artists is scheduled Saturday, April 9, from 2-4 p.m. Both the reception and exhibit are open and free to the campus community and public. Powell is a student working on her Master of Fine Arts in drawing and painting at Cal State Fullerton. A resident of Whittier, Powell's work is autobiographical and uses symbolism and bright colors to mask the sometimes disturbing truths. Her array of media includes books, drawings, fabric blocks and dolls. Muñiz works as a graphic designer and has participated in several group art exhibitions in southern New Mexico and Southern California. Muñiz?s work represents imagery that is indicative of the Mexican culture. He prints everything by hand, and he seeks to regain the value and aesthetics of hand-done work.
