The American Red Cross and Student Health Services will hold a quarterly blood drive Feb. 15-17 in the Bronco Student Center's Ursa Major Room C.

In an effort to increase blood supplies, the American Red Cross and Student Health Services will hold a quarterly blood drive Feb. 15-17 in the Bronco Student Center's Ursa Major Room C.

The American Red Cross has issued an urgent appeal to communities for additional blood donations. The recent tragedy of the Glendale train derailment has suddenly depleted local blood supplies, which have remained lower than desired over the years. Just 3 percent of the population in Southern California donates 100 percent of the blood that is collected. Forty percent of the area's local needs must come from areas outside of the regional location.

Blood drive hours are as follows: Tuesday, Feb. 15, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday, Feb. 16, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Thursday, Feb. 17, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

To sign up and donate, visit www.givelife.org/index.cfm?hlc=clpoly%20%20%20%20, and enter in the sponsor code of “CLPOLY”. Donate blood and receive a free T-shirt or Baskin-Robbins gift coupon.
