APC Holiday Luncheon

Jared R. Stallones

Jared R. Stallones , assistant professor, Education, authored “The Education of the Institution Boy: The Voorhis Vision of Progressive Education,” published in the Fall 2004 issue of the American Educational History Journal. As a member of the Curriculum Committee of the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS), Stallones participated in a panel on the effects of the No Child Left Behind legislation on social studies instruction nationwide at the NCSS Annual Conference, Nov. 19-21, in Baltimore, Md. He has also been chosen as chair of the Awards and Professional Standards Committee of the California Council for Social Studies.

Artist's Talk & Sneak Preview Screening

The Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center Gallery will present an artist's talk and sneak preview screening with multimedia artist Lucinda Luvaas. The artist's talk will take place Saturday, Dec. 4, at 3 p.m. Luvaas will discuss her work and methods and screen her videos, "Running Through History" Part I, II & III. The sneak preview screening of Luvaas' newest film, "A Working Man's Apocrypha," followed by a discussion will be held Saturday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public.
