The Cal Poly Pomona community has joined in the fight to help victims of the Grand Prix wildfire that has ravaged the Inland Valley by collecting donations for the Salvation Army. On Halloween, the annual Haunted Bronco Student Center, hosted by Associated Students Inc., will be collecting donations in lieu of the customary $2 fee. Funds collected from those who do not bring items for donation will also be given to the Salvation Army. The haunted event will take place Friday, Oct. 31, 3-5 p.m. Fans attending Saturday?s Cal Poly Pomona-Cal State San Bernardino soccer games will get free admission by donating two or more cans of food or other non-perishable items. Bronco men will host Cal State San Bernardino Nov. 1 at 4:30 p.m. at Kellogg Field in a match with postseason implications, while the women will square off at 7 p.m. in another game that could decide postseason berths. In addition, donations will be accepted through Friday, Nov. 7, at numerous locations throughout campus. These donations will be processed by ASI, which is partnering with the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, PFF Bank and the Salvation Army to collect donations of food, clothing and other household goods for fire victims.
