Glenn Shenker Named Interim Director of Athletics, Other Changes Announced
Glenn Shenker will assume the duties of interim director of Athletics on July 15.

Glenn Shenker, the associate director of Athletics, will assume the duties of interim director of Athletics until a nation-wide search for the permanent position is complete. He will begin his new position on July 15.

The position will be vacant with the impending departure of Dan Bridges, who has accepted the position of dean of instruction for Physical Education and Athletics at San Bernardino Valley Community College.

Shenker has more than 20 years of experience at Cal Poly Pomona, having served as the associate director of Athletics, director of development for Athletics and director of development for the division of Student Affairs. Shenker chaired and coordinated the university?s BroncoFest open house for three consecutive years. He has spent 19 of his 23 years at the university working in Athletics.

In addition, Christine Ward will add to her responsibilities, assuming the title of interim associate director of Athletics. She will continue her role as the senior women?s administrator for the department as well as the department?s business manager. She will also supervise event management, marketing and promotions, and serve as the liaison with leases and facilities.

Maryann Tolano will be promoted to publications/special events coordinator. Tolano has worked in the Athletic department for three years and was the department?s publications and game management coordinator this past year. She will continue to design media guides and promotional publications and will head the department?s many special events this upcoming year, including the NCAA Division II Regionals in cross country as well as the track & field national championships in Spring 2004. She will also oversee the Bronco Athletic Association.
