Maryann Tolano, Athletic department publication and game management coordinator, recently won a national award for a design logo.

Tolano's winning design logo for the Division II Athletic Directors Association.

Maryann Tolano, the Broncos? publication and game management coordinator, won a national award last week in a competition to design a new logo for the Division II Athletic Directors Association.

Tolano?s logo was selected as one of the top three in the nation and then won the top prize in voting by the nation?s Division II athletic directors.

The logo that caught the directors? eyes featured a broken oval surrounding a slanted ?D2.? Tolano?s logo represents the idea that while there is an established Division II network, there still is room to welcome new members to expand the association. The forward slant of the ?D2? represents the forward-moving progress that the association strives to achieve.

Tolano, a 2000 Cal Poly Pomona graduate, has also designed a pair of Athletic department media guides, featuring a cover photograph by University Photographer Tom Zasadzinski from the Office of Public Affairs, that won national awards in 2002.
