Volunteer Evening at Local Community Festival

Volunteer Evening at Local Community Festival
————————————————————

Dedication, teamwork and sportsmanship have become hallmarks of Cal Poly Pomona coach Greg Kamansky?s basketball teams. But another important component in Kamansky?s game plan is for his student-athletes to give back to the local community.

For the third straight year, Bronco players will spend Halloween night volunteering at the Abundant Living Church?s Harvest Festival in Rancho Cucamonga. The popular community event anticipates over 5,000 children will attend this year, providing the youngsters with a special evening of safe entertainment.

The Bronco student-athletes will arrive early and stay late, helping set up booths, run games, interact with the kids and clean up afterward. It?s the kind of commitment Kamansky believes creates outstanding relationships on and off the court.

?When my players see how the kids look up to them, they understand their responsibility as college athletes,? says Kamansky. ?They represent themselves and Cal Poly Pomona very well.?

The Harvest Festival runs from 6-9 p.m. at the Abundant Living Church, located at 9239 Utica Ave. in Rancho Cucamonga. For additional festival information, contact (909) 987-7110. For more information on Cal Poly Pomona men?s basketball, contact (909) 869-2833 or visit the team's Web page.
