Folonis , lecturer, Architecture, was featured in the February 2002 issue of Dwell magazine. The article focused on one of Folonis's projects, the renovation of the historic Avenel Apartment complex that was built for union musicians in 1948. The complex is located in Silver Lake Hills, a residential community northeast of downtown Los Angeles.

Nardi , professor, Architecture, was invited by the School of Architects of Ningbo University, China, to lecture to faculty and students. The lecture, "Culture and the Environment," took place in May in China.

Vinita Dhingra has been chosen Cal Poly Pomona's new executive director of diversity. Dhingra, previously a communication professor and executive associate for undergraduate studies at Cal Poly Pomona, spent the past year serving as acting executive director while a national search was being conducted.

Doreen Nelson

Nelson , professor, Education, developed a television series that is available for viewing as streaming video at video.cpp.edu. The program, "Education That Works," features area educators such as Ronald Hockwalt, superintendent of the Walnut Valley Unified School District, and Leslie Stoltz, a teacher from his district.
